The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin into heaven is Saturday, August 15^th.  When All Saints Day and the Assumption fall on a Monday or a Saturday there is NO obligation to attend Mass.  We will offer the Mass of the Assumption of the Blessed Mother at 8:15 Saturday morning, August 15^th.

The weekend of August 15^th – 16^th – is the second collection for National Needs Combined Collection: Catholic University of America, Catholic Communications Campaign, Catholic Home Missions Appeal and Catholic Relief Services Collection.

Fr. Tony Scannell, O.F.M., Cap., was a treasured part of St. Francis de Sales from 1988 to mid-2009.

A Memorial Mass for Fr. Tony will be offered at St. Bede the Venerable Church in La Canada on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00 am.

All of St. Francis de Sales are welcome to join this Memorial Mass, to pray for Fr. Tony and to thank God for this wonderful Capuchin priest who served God’s People so faithfully through preaching, media and making present the sacraments.
