“Beware the ides of March” says the soothsayer to Julius Cesar.
This Sunday is the poignant episode of the man born blind. Last Sunday it was the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. The Samaritan woman desires water and the man born blind wishes to see – both are expressing the desire for life. With St. John’s delicate use of irony each is standing face to face with the one who gives living water of eternal life and the one who is the light of the world.
All Fridays of Lent are days of abstaining from eating meat.
We pray the Stations of the Cross every Friday evening of Lent at 7:00.
